Candace Smith founder of Cain & Able Collection wanted to nurture her dogs Cain & Able in a more natural way. It all started on a typical Saturday morning taking her dogs for a long walk to the creek for a swim and a game of fetch. Their long walk is always followed with a warm bath, breakfast, and a nap. One, cold morning, she was laying on the couch in front of her fireplace watching her dogs snooze and began to think about the joy she gets from nurturing her dogs. She wanted to help other dog owners take pleasure in nurturing their dogs as well.
A few days later, it was time for Cain & Ables monthly flea & tick medicine, but has always wanted a natural way to protect them from those unwanted pest. Then it hit her: there had to be a better way! She thought to herself I can keep them healthy nurture their coat and skin and protect them at the same time. So, the idea behind Cain & Able Collection was born
She started researching All Natural bug repellants and skin remedies. She tried to make shampoos in her kitchen (goggles and all), but that was a complete disaster. Thats when she decided to seek help from a chemist. Both her and the chemist came up with formulas, which were All Natural and used only human-grade ingredients. She tested each product first on herself (even putting the shampoo in her eyes) and then on her dogs. Lavender was the first scent created and since then line has grown, but one thing has never changed Candace always human tested and dog approved.
At Cain & Able Collection the main goal is to create products inspired out of love for dogs and the people they own. They want to make products that nurture pets, and this extends to the way they do business by nurturing customers, vendors and co-workers. And the best thing about her business is that her dogs come to work with her everyday.
